Antigenic Lipids

Antigenic reactivity references a virus's ability to bind to specific antibody molecules. Haptens are a type of antigen that elicit the production of antibodies when attached to a carrier molecule. Avanti’s antigenic lipids are made through the conjugation of 16:0 PE and a dinitrophenyl (DNP) or trinitrophenyl (TNP) headgroups. DNP and TNP are both haptens and their lipid conjugates can be used to study antibody binding at lipid membrane interfaces.
