Pick-Up Buck!
On April 24th, Avanti hosted its first Buck Creek clean-up initiative called “Pick-Up Buck”. This event was a collaborative effort by Avanti’s QC, QA, Regulatory, GMP, and Legal teams to remove trash from the banks of the creek. The team was also joined by Wil Rainer of the Cahaba River Society and Angie, a neighbor from the neighborhood near the Alabaster site. The initiative was a success, and the team managed to collect a total of 685lb of trash.
The event was an excellent opportunity for the Avanti team to give back to the community and work together towards a common goal of keeping the local environment clean and healthy. The Buck Creek clean-up initiative was an important step towards creating awareness about the need to protect the natural habitats of our local wildlife and preserve our waterways. By removing trash from the banks of the creek, the team prevented the accumulation of debris that could potentially harm the flora and fauna that depend on the creek for survival.
The Avanti team found a range of unusual items while cleaning the creek. Some of the highlights included old tires, glass bottles from the 1970s, and an old Pepsi beverage tub. These items may seem like insignificant finds, but their removal can have a significant impact on the health of the creek and its ecosystem. The event was a valuable reminder that every small action counts towards creating a cleaner and healthier environment.
The success of the Buck Creek clean-up initiative has encouraged the Avanti team to consider making “Pick-Up Buck” an annual event. By doing so, the team hopes to continue making a positive impact on the local environment and creating awareness about the importance of protecting our natural resources. The event was an excellent opportunity for team building and collaboration, and it was heartening to see the enthusiasm and dedication of everyone involved.
In conclusion, the Buck Creek clean-up initiative was a successful event that brought together the Avanti team, neighbors, and the Cahaba River Society to work towards a common goal. The team’s efforts to remove trash from the banks of the creek were significant in creating a cleaner and healthier environment for our local wildlife. The event was a reminder that every small action counts, and we must all do our part to protect and preserve our natural resources.
