| Chol-PEG1000-Maleimide is a lipid that consists of a cholesterol-PEG1000 unit conjugated to a maleimide unit. This lipid incorporates itself into micelles and liposomes which results in this lipid being able to be used for drug delivery research. The maleimide group reacts with thiol groups on peptides, facilitating the attachment of bioactive molecules to the lipid nanoparticle surface. This unique capability allows for the creation of LNPs tailored for targeted delivery to specific cells. |
