DOPE-PEG(2000) Amine
1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-N-[amino(polyethylene glycol)-2000] (ammonium salt)
DOPE-PEG(2000) Amine, or 1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-N-[amino(polyethylene glycol)-2000], is a synthetic phospholipid-polyethylene glycol (PEG) conjugate, uniquely engineered for advanced drug delivery research. This linear heterobifunctional PEGylation reagent with an unsaturated dope phospholipid and an amine (DOPE-PEG-Amine, MW 2K) is used to modify liposome surface with biomolecules consisting of amine-reactive groups.
Comprising 1,2-Dioleoyl-sn–glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (DOPE) and a PEG molecule of approximately 2000 Daltons, this compound features an amine termination. The intricate combination of DOPE's unsaturated phospholipid and the bioconjugation-friendly amine makes it an invaluable tool in both targeted drug delivery and liposomal drug delivery systems.
Application
In targeted drug delivery, DOPE-PEG(2000) Amine shines by modifying liposome surfaces with biomolecules bearing amine-reactive groups such as NHS and thiolate. This PEGylation reagent helps improve drug solubility within lipid bilayers, while the PEG moiety imparts stealth properties to the delivery system, extending circulation half-life and minimizing non-specific protein binding or cell adhesion.
The amine group helps bioconjugate targeting molecules like antibodies, aptamers, proteins, and peptides, making it an essential component for preparing grafted or PEGylated liposomes and micelles. Additionally, it has proven efficacy in the synthesis of solid lipid and thermosensitive liposomal nanoparticles for anticancer drug delivery and imaging applications.
Packaging
DOPE-PEG(2000) Amine is available in chloroform form in 10 mg packaging.
Renowned for its purity and functional utility, this Avanti Research product supports advanced research in nanotechnology and molecular biology.
