C18:0-d7 GT3 Ganglioside (Neu5Aca2,8Neu5Aca2,8Neu5Aca2,3Galb1,4Glcb-Ceramide(d18:1/18:0-d7))
GT3 is a ceramide that is predominantly found in the retina and may play a role in retina tissue structure and function. GT3 ceramides are precursors to more complex gangliosides, and modified GT3 ceramides have been linked to tumors. Lower levels of GT3 ceramides are seen in patients with Alzheimer’s disease. This GT3 ganglioside is the deuterated version, which will enable the easier study of structure, dynamics, and function of cell membranes.
