This product is an oxidized version of synthetically pure Top Fluor-PAPC that provides a mixture of oxidation products including PGPC, POVPC, PEIPC, and others. The spectrum attached (see downloads) is provided to show the variety of species contained in this product. It was obtained in positive Q1 mode on a Sciex 4000 QTrap using methanol with 10mM ammonium acetate.
The oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids through both enzymatic and nonenzymatic pathways produces oxylipins. A significant portion of oxylipins is found in blood plasma, where they are bound to phospholipids, forming oxidized phospholipids (OxPLs). Research into the biological activity of OxPLs gained momentum after their identification as key proinflammatory and atherogenic components of oxidized LDL (OxLDL). Subsequent studies have confirmed and expanded on these findings, establishing OxPLs as versatile lipid mediators with diverse biological roles. These roles include involvement in inflammation, atherosclerosis, cell death and survival, blood coagulation and thrombosis, lung endothelial barrier regulation, angiogenesis, vascular aging, immune response, and various other processes.
