| Polysarcosine (pSar) lipids are offered as alternatives to traditional PEGylated lipids used in RNA delivery vehicles. Compared to similar PEGylated lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), pSar LNPs have shown improved mRNA transfection potency and improved safety profiles. Di 18:0-N-pSar-Tetrazine is a polysarcosine-lipid conjugate that is being studied for its use within drug delivery systems as an alternative to traditional PEGylation in LNPs. The tetrazine moiety allows the molecule to be used in biorthogonal click chemistry. Tetrazine reacts specifically with trans-cyclooctene (TCO) and can occur in complex biological environments without interfering with other biological processes. |
