N-Acylglycine (NAGly)

N-acyl glycines are glycine conjugates of acyl-CoA species. The analysis of acylglycines is important for the diagnosis of inherited disorders of mitochondrial fatty acid beta-oxidation. Quantitative analysis of urinary acylglycine has been used to detect inborn errors of metabolism. Avanti currently offers three N-acylglycines which are N-palmitoylglycine, N-arachidonoylglycine, and N-oleoylglycine. These N-acylglycines have been detected in the CNS in mammals and are linked to several important biological roles including antinociception, anti-inflammation, proliferative control, intracellular calcium mobilization, insulin release, body temperature regulation, locomotion, nitric oxide production in sensory neurons, and skin aging.
